When: March 24 -27
Where: Atlanta International School, Mount Paran High School, The Lovett School, The Westminster School / video conference with Flowery Branch High School, GA and Westwood High School, SC
Yaël Hassan spent her childhood in Belgium, her adolescence in France, and her youth in Israel. She returned to France in 1984 with her family. Following an accident in 1994 that left her temporarily paralyzed, Hassan wrote her first novel, A Grandfather Fallen from the Sky (in French: Un grand-père tombé du ciel).
The works of Yaël Hassan address current events with profound simplicity. Her last novel Mon rêve d’Amérique deals with WWI and the history of immigration to the United-States.
She will give presentations in five local high schools (AIS, Mount Paran, Lovett, Westminster and Gordon Central), as well as video conferences for schools outside of Atlanta (Flowery Branch High School, GA and Westwood High School, SC).
When meeting with the students, she will answer questions about her books as well as about her writing profession.
